Prequalifications

Vehicle Eligibility
Standard:

  • Must be 6 calendar years old or newer
  • Must have 75,000 miles or less
  • Must have no structural damage
  • Must have no title or title history brands
  • Must not be a stripped, stolen, or recovered vehicle

Vehicle Identification Number Plates
Standard:

  • The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is the same as when the vehicle was originally produced.
  • The public VIN matches the VIN in the door jam or post.
  • Canadian vehicles must have evidence of proper importation.

Recommended Test Procedure:

Verify that the VIN matches the vehicle. The VIN must not be covered over and there may be no signs of VIN plate tampering (i.e., scratches, bends, or anything suspicious, etc.). Verify that the public VIN (on the dash) matches the VIN in the door jam or post. If the vehicle is Canadian, which may be evidenced by a maple leaf on the data plate located in the door jam, then a Registered Importation (R.I.) sticker must accompany it.

Frame/Structure
Standard:

  • The vehicle must be free of structural damage as defined by the NAAA Structural Damage Policy.

Recommended Test Procedure:

Closely inspect the vehicle for any damage that might compromise the structure of the vehicle. Structural certifications will be required if the inspector suspects structural damage, but is unable to locate any visual evidence. For example, collision damage and/or previous repairs combined with minor panel misalignment. The structural certification does not supersede substandard repair work. The vehicle must still be visually acceptable.

Trailering Package
Standard:

  • There should be no holes drilled in the frame or structure.
  • There should be no welds on the frame or structure.

Recommended Test Procedure:

The frame or structure should be visually inspected to ensure that there are no drilled holes or welds. A properly installed trailer package should use existing holes and mounting locations.
