Carmel, IN— ADESA today announced that Michelle Mallon, vice president of legal, was named one of the auto remarketing industry’s most influential women by Auto Remarketing Magazine. Recipients are nominated for this honor by their peers.

The Women of Remarketing (WOR) award recognizes outstanding leaders for their contributions to the auto remarketing and used-car industry. Mallon was one of 13 honorees to accept this year’s WOR Award during the annual National Remarketing Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., last week.

“For the past decade, Michelle has been dedicated to doing what’s right for customers, for auctions and for the industry as a whole,” said ADESA CEO and President Tom Caruso. “I can’t think of a more worthy recipient of this honor.”

Prior to joining ADESA in 2002, Mallon worked at Indianapolis law firms such as Ice Miller and Stewart & Irwin P.C. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., as well as a doctorate of jurisprudence from Indiana University-Indianapolis.

Mallon is active in the legal community and currently serves as co-chair of the National Auto Auction Association’s Legislative Committee. Recently, she played a key role in two pieces of legislation related to the automotive industry. In Indiana, she is advocating a bill that would regulate requirements for wholesale dealer licenses.

On the national level, Mallon visited Capitol Hill to alert key Senatorial staff about a piece of federal legislation concerning auto auctions and the public disclosure of information on certain used vehicles.infrastructure.
