NBA World Championship Trophy Makes Special Appearance at Akron Auto Auction

The prestigious Larry O’Brien NBA World Championship Trophy, which was won by Cleveland Cavaliers this past summer, made a special appearance at the Akron Auto Auction in late September.

Named to honor former NBA Commissioner Larry 0’Brien, who served from 1975-1984, the famed trophy arrived at the auction with two professional guards who supervised an action-filled photo shoot for all auction employees.

The Cavaliers, who won their first national championship in 1964, also made available Cleveland Cavaliers mascot Sir CC, the Cavaliers Spirit Squad and Cheerleaders. Ahmaad Crump the famed public address announcer was also on hand for the photo shoot.

“Knowing that it had been decades since the Cavs won a title,” said Chad Bailey, Akron Auto Auction President, “it was truly an incredible experience to allow our auction employees and their families a chance to actually touch and be photographed with a true treasure of Cleveland sports history.”
