Senator Richard D. Roth and Assemblymember Jose Medina Visit Manheim Riverside

State Legislators Tour Wholesale Vehicle Auction to
Understand Business, Local Economic Value

RIVERSIDE, Calif., – To demonstrate the economic value that wholesale vehicle auctions provide to their local economy, Manheim hosted an auction visit and tour of Manheim Riverside for State Sen. Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) and State Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside) on Tuesday, Oct. 21 Manheim Riverside was established in 1988 and is part of Manheim, the leading provider of vehicle remarketing services.

Roth and Medina toured the wholesale facility, located at 6446 Fremont St., and met with Scott Hurst, market vice president for Manheim’s Southern California Market; Christopher Brown, general manager for Manheim Riverside, and Karyn Wrye, senior director of Manheim’s government affairs.

“I am proud to visit Manheim Riverside,” Sen. Roth said. “Helping our local economy grow is among my top priorities. This tour provides an opportunity to speak directly with business owners and their employees and learn what the Legislature can do to help assist economic growth. While Inland Southern California was hit hard by the global recession and experiences a slow recovery, I continue working with our legislators and Governor to remove obstacles and grow Inland Southern California’s economy.”

“State-of-the-art facilities, such as the one Manheim operates here in the district, are a beacon to the local economy,” Assemblymember Medina said. “Employing and providing hundreds of workers with 21st century training not only helps advance the purchasing power for themselves and their families, but positively impacts the economic vitality of the region as a whole.”

“Manheim Riverside was honored and excited to host Sen. Roth and Assemblymember Medina,” Hurst said. “With our auction operation and our newly-opened Service Center, we are extremely proud to contribute to the growth of our industry, our local economy and our community.”

Earlier this year, U.S. Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) visited Manheim Riverside as the 100th business of his “100 Business” tour that began in 2013.

In November 2013, Manheim Riverside opened an 89,000 square-foot multi-use California Service Center that includes a Manheim employee service center, a Volkswagen Credit (VCI)/Audi Financial Services (AFS) Technical Operations Center and other office and meeting space.
